This Work Package will analyze public and governance responses to proposals for ocean NETs at the national and global level; what regional and global governance challenges and opportunities exist for the successful and cost-effective implementation of Ocean NETs; and what international legal responsibilities apply in relation to Ocean NETs.

Objectives

  1. To analyse the governance, policy and international legal dimensions of ocean-based NETs.
  2. To identify key barriers and synergies for Ocean NETs with current and future ocean governance regimes, to promote their successful and cost-effective implementation.
  3. To offer recommendations for overcoming governance challenges and exploiting opportunities.
